AIMS AND CONTENT

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The purpose of the course is to provide students with the tools to orient themselves in the complex panorama of modernity, to understand and to consider critically (address) decisive aspects of the current phenomena of globalization, development and migration.

The point of view will be the anthropological one.

Active participation in the proposed training activities (lectures and seminars) will allow  the student (you) to:

- understand the dynamics of globalization

- identify the contradictions of development policies

- to know the persistence of migratory phenomena

TEACHING METHODS

The lessons will be held in frontal mode, with the possibility of carrying out more specific studies and exercises aimed at achieving the aims of the course. The lessons will hopefully be held in person.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

The course program includes the presentation and discussion of the following topics:

-Identity: stereotypes and prejudices

- Anthropology and globalization

-Migrations in the past and present

-Development: reality or myth?

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The exam will take place orally. The optional test, with the presentation of a thematic study during the course, will contribute to the final evaluation.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The oral interview will  evaluate the actual acquisition of basic knowledge and (will allow  you to) verify the ability to analyze the topics dealt with in the cours.

They will serve as parameters for judgment:

- the quality of the exposure

- the correct use of the specialist vocabulary

- aptitude for critical analysis

- the originality of the reasoning.
