OVERVIEW

The course provides elements of applied mechanics to machines that complement what was learned in the bachelor's degree program.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Ability to design systems, including electric drives and non-conventional transmission devices working in stationary as well as transient regime.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The student learns to design systems that encompass a variety of drives and transmissions, including those that are unconventional. This involves understanding and creating systems that operate under both steady-state and transient conditions. Additionally, the student gains knowledge on how to handle and mitigate vibratory phenomena within these systems, ensuring reliable and efficient operation even when such challenging conditions are present. Through this comprehensive approach, the student develops a robust skill set in mechanical system design and analysis, preparing them to tackle complex engineering problems in real-world applications.

TEACHING METHODS

Theoretical lessons integrated with examples and exercises.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

• Mechanics of transmissions and actuations for automatic machines and robots: components and models.

• Unconventional transmissions, including those for traction.

• Elements of fluid automation and hydraulic transmissions.

• Vibrations of multi-degree-of-freedom systems.
