The modules of the integrated course provide knowledge of pediatric and adult neurological pathophysiology and semiology as a foundation for clinical practice, along with the basic principles of modern neurological rehabilitation and clinical neuropsychology. Particular attention is given to the semiology of major disorders affecting different cognitive functions in both adulthood and developmental age. The course also covers the pathogenesis and symptomatology of the main psychopathological conditions.
The course aims to provide students with knowledge of neurological pathophysiology and semiology as a foundation for clinical practice, as well as the basic principles of modern neurological rehabilitation and clinical neuropsychology (including a general overview of cognitive functions and their anatomo-clinical correlations). In particular, students will develop the ability to approach neuropsychological assessment and to understand the semiology of disorders affecting various cognitive functions, both in adulthood and childhood. They will also learn to recognize the main neurological conditions associated with these disorders and acquire a general understanding of major psychopathological syndromes.
Basic knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the nervous system, acquired during first-year courses. Useful additional background includes developmental psychology and the principles of verbal and non-verbal communication.

APPLIED NEUROSCIENCES I
Oral exam or written test with multiple-choice questions
The student is expected to demonstrate adequate knowledge across all the subjects that make up the integrated course. In particular, this includes understanding the fundamentals of neurological pathophysiology and semiology, the basic principles of clinical neuropsychology, introductory elements of neurological rehabilitation, and the main psychopathological conditions in both adulthood and developmental age. The student should also be able to understand the clinical and functional implications of cognitive disorders and acquire an integrated perspective useful for logopedic assessment and intervention in neurological contexts.
