Graduate in Marine Biology and Ecology in Genoa

The Master's Degree in Marine Biology and Ecology in Genoa is based on a multidisciplinary department with a strong territorial connection that has a historical dedication to studying marine sciences. The Degree was born from the need to train highly qualified and specialised figures, capable of addressing the consequences that climate change and human activities have on marine biodiversity and the integrity of marine habitats with a multidisciplinary approach that integrates biological and ecological-managerial fields.

Training course

The aim of the course in Marine Biology and Ecology is to train specialists in the field of study, management, monitoring and conservation of biodiversity and marine ecosystems, also in relation to the commercial use of resources (such as food and health).

Particular emphasis is given to the study of marine biodiversity, in all its dimensional components, in all environments and in its historical and relational development. The applicative aspects of marine biology are also widely covered (including Blue Technologies, statistics and regulatory aspects), to develop design skills in monitoring, management and conservation of marine ecosystems, as well as skills related to the management of aquaculture plants, aquariums and Marine Protected Areas.
