Graduating students' fees

If you intend to graduate by 31 March 2026

If you intend to graduate by 31 March 2026 (last graduation session of the 2024/25 academic year), you are not required to enrol for the 2025/26 academic year (outside the course of the old system or beyond the normal duration of the new system) and pay the corresponding student contribution.

If, after graduation, you intend to pursue a career, please note that:

    .
  • If you make your final degree by 27 February 2026 

    (or any earlier deadline set by the relevant teaching structures), you may enrol for a Master's degree in the academic year 2025/26 by 10 March 2026 

    (for enrolment deadlines, see the deadlines page);

  • .
  • In the event of achieving your final degree after 27th February 2026, you will be able to enrol in the Master's degree starting from the academic year 2026/27.
  • .

If you fail to graduate by 31 March

If you are unable to graduate by 31 March 2026, you can enrol late for the 2025/26 academic year (outside the course of the old system/beyond the normal duration of the new system) by paying, again by that date:

  • 1st payment (stamp duty and regional tax)
  • .
  • 2nd instalment payable after payment of the 1st instalment

with related indemnities for late payment

By 25 June 2026 you will have to pay the3rd instalment (the balance of the university fee), which can bereduced by 50% if by 31 March 2026 you have passed all your profit exams and owe only the final or graduation exams. (*)

If you are not sure that you will graduate by 31 March 2026 and you wish to avoid paying any late fees,you can precautiously register for the academic year 2025/26 (fuori corso del previgente ordinamento o oltre la durata normale del nuovo ordinamento), with payment of the student contribution within the ordinary terms envisaged (1st instalment by 3 October 2025; 2nd instalment by 10 December 2025), taking the following into account:

  • In case ofachievement of the final degree by 27 February 2026:
    • If you intend to continue your career, you may enrol for a Master's degree in the academic year 2025/26 by 10 March 2026 (for enrolment deadlines see the page). The 1st and 2nd instalment contributions already paid will be considered valid for this registration. You must pay the 3rd instalment by 25 June 2025.
    • if you do not intend to continue your career, you will be able to request the refund (**) of the contributions paid (see procedure How to obtain payment of individual refunds).
  • .
  • In the event of achievement of the final title in the period from 1 to 31 March 2026:
  • If you intend to continue your career, you will be able to enrol in the Master's degree starting from academic year 2026/27.

N.B.The contributions already paid cannot be used for this eventual enrolment. Therefore, you will be able to ask for a refund (**) of the contributions paid as a precautionary measure (see procedure  How to obtain payment of individual refunds).

In the event of failure to obtain the final title by 31 March

If you do not obtain your final degree by 31 March 2026 (last graduation session - academic year 2024/25), your out-of-course enrolment from the previous system/beyond the normal duration of the new system will already be active.

By June 20, 2026 you will have to pay the third instalment (the balance of the tuition fee), which may be reduced by 50% if by March 31, 2026 you have passed all your examinations and owe only the final examination or degree. (*)

ISEE for University (ISEE-U)

Regarding ISEE for the University (ISEE-U).

Starting from academic year 2025/26, all regularly enrolled students interested in the graduation of student contribution amounts will have to comply with the following new deadlines for submitting the DSU (Dichiarazione Sostitutiva Unica) for the purpose of issuing the university ISEE:

  • from 1 January to 31 October 2025; ordinary period
  • from 1 November to 30 November 2025 > deferred period, with payment of a late fee of € 100.00
  • from 1 December to 15 June 2026 > period in arrears, with payment of a late payment € 200.00

Students regularly enrolled for the a.y. 2025/26, in order to obtain the rescheduling of the 2nd instalment (due date 10 December 2025), will be required to self-certify their ISEE-U data to the University through the appropriate procedure on UNIGE online services by 31 October 2025.
. The final and mandatory deadline for self-certification of income data will be June 15, 2026

If you are interested in recalculating your student contribution, we advise you to sign the Dichiarazione Sostitutiva Unica (DSU) by the ordinary deadline of 31 October 2025: in the event of late enrolment for the 2025/26 academic year (due to failure to complete your degree or continuation of studies), after having paid the first instalment (the online self-certification is reserved only for students enrolled in the current academic year), you will have the opportunity to self-certify online the ISEE-U data in order to obtain the recalculation of the regional tax and of the 2nd and 3rd instalments of the student contribution (any credits from the 2nd instalment will be offset against the 3rd instalment).

(**) You may be reimbursed, provided that you have not applied for certificates of enrolment for the academic year 2025/26, made any changes to your study plan and/or carried out any student work (e.g. part-time - tutor) for the same academic year.
