Assessment of Adequacy of Personal Readiness

What is it

The assessment of the adequacy of personal preparation is the meant to ascertain the possession of the necessary basic specialist knowledge for admission to the course.

Who should carry out the verification

The adequacy of personal preparation is automatically verified for those who have obtained a three-year degree, Italian or foreign - or a degree judged to be equivalent according to what is indicated with regard to the evaluation of curricular requirements -, with a final grade equal to at least 9/10 of the maximum grade achievable for their degree, or who have obtained a final grade corresponding at least to the "A" classification of the ECTS system.

Otherwise, verification is necessary if no other assessment has been carried out previously (e.g. within the Unigeapply process). Otherwise, verification is required if no other assessments have been conducted previously (e.g. as part of the Unigeapply process).

How the test works

If the admission criteria are met, you will have to take an assessment of the requirements in front of a committee to ascertain your knowledge.

The test takes place in the form of a public interview, written test or remote interview. The test takes place in the form of a public interview, written test or remote interview and is designed to ascertain the student's general preparation, with particular regard to knowledge of the fundamentals and applied and professional aspects of the following topics:

  • analogue and digital electronics
  • electromagnetic fields
  • computer architectures
  • signal processing and transmission
  • telecommunications networks and systems
  • data structures and algorithms

English language proficiency of level B2 or higher is verified by certification in the student's possession, or, in the absence thereof, by passing the B2 test administered by the Language Skills Development Sector (of the University). The language proficiency requirement is also met if the student holds a degree in English, to be certified by means of an official document or letter from the university that awarded the degree, showing that the studies were carried out in English. If none of the above conditions are met, language knowledge must be verified during the personal preparation test by the relevant Examination Board. In the latter case, the ability to use the English language fluently is also the subject of the personal preparation test.

.

N.B.The adequacy of personal preparation is automatically verified for those students who have obtained a three-year degree, Italian or foreign, or a degree judged equivalent during the assessment of curricular requirements, with a final grade of at least 9/10 of the maximum grade for their degree or who have obtained a final grade corresponding at least to the "A" classification of the ECTS system.

The ability to use English as a foreign language is also verified by the relative examination board. Students who, at the time of admission to the Laurea Magistrale course, do not possess sufficient knowledge of written and oral Italian must obligatorily envisage the inclusion of the Italian language course envisaged in the Degree Programme in their training programme.
