    The course begins with a solid science background, teaching how to use physical-mathematical tools to tackle basic engineering problems. It then addresses the five characteristic topics in mechanics:

    • mechanical design: analyzing and designing simple mechanical systems including functional aspects

    • thermal and environmental systems: thermodynamic cycles, heat transfer, energy recovery, refrigeration technology and environmental conditioning
    • energy and fluid dynamic systems: modeling of energy processes, thermodynamic cycles applied to fluid machines and internal combustion engines
    • mechanical systems and technology: the production systems, design and technical and economic feasibility for Industry 4.0
    • measurements, control and automation: the mechanical and thermal sensors, probability and statistics, dynamic servosystems

    By the end you will have acquired a solid cultural background and critical and problem solving skills. You will have operational skills up-to-date and versatile. You will be prepared for the next steps to know how to meet the demands of manufacturing, modern industry, and advanced service industries.
