Do you need advice or support in tackling certain exams?

You can turn to the didactic tutors - students enrolled in a Master's degree course or at least in the fourth year of a single-cycle degree course - who, thanks to their experience, can give you insights and suggestions on study methods.

The au pair tutors can help you with one-to-one meetings to better organise your studies and prepare for exams.

Where and when to find tutors

You can meet the tutors:

  • on the first day at the presentation of your degree course
  • .
  • at the freshmen's day, organised by your degree course
  • in the classroom during the first lectures

Tutors

Tutor teachers are appointed by the course of study to offer assistance to students during their studies. In addition to carrying out their specific teaching duties, they facilitate the integration of freshmen into the university world and provide guidance to make their studies more effective and productive.

Do you want to become a tutor?

If you are duly enrolled in the current academic year at the University of Genoa, you can submit applications for participation in the call for tutor selection, which is published once a year, usually in April/May.

Below is some general information about the different types of tutors:

They carry out tutoring and didactic-integrative, preparatory and remedial activities and, in the case of peer tutors, for students with disabilities or DSA.

To access this profile you must be enrolled:

  • from the 4th year onwards of single-cycle degree courses at the University of Genoa
  • to Master's degree courses at the University of Genoa
  • to PhD courses with administrative headquarters at the University of Genoa

as well as having an average of at least 24/30.

This is the only type of tutor compatible with part-time collaborative activity (ex-150 hours) also at ALFA (ex-ARSEL) carried out in the same academic year.

The gross hourly remuneration is €17.00 for teaching tutors and €21.00 for au pair tutors.

Before the start of the activity, there is a compulsory training course that provides both basic information on the University's services and specific details on the type of activity to be carried out.

To be eligible for this profile, you must be a registered student:

  •  from the second year onwards of three-year degree courses and single-cycle master's degree courses at the University of Genoa (in possession of a certain number of CFUs, as specified in the Announcement)
  • Master's degree courses at the University of Genoa
  •  to PhD courses with administrative headquarters at the University of Genoa

A maximum of 200 hours may be worked and the hourly fee is €13.00, tax-exempt.

They carry out individual coaching activities for their fellow students with disabilities or SLDs with the aim of eliminating or reducing the obstacles they may encounter in the realisation of their chosen educational pathway.

They also carry out individual coaching activities for their fellow students with disabilities or SLDs with the aim of eliminating or reducing the obstacles they may encounter in the realisation of their chosen educational pathway.

They have the function of coordinating the activities of the welcoming tutors (Profile C) indicated by the Structures taking part in the Project and of supporting the team of teachers identified in the projects of the participating Departments, according to the directives and indications of the professional figure in charge of the guidance service. The other tutors have support and liaison functions between all the figures involved in the Project.
