In particular, it deepens the main institutional competences and the related procedures. The course also illustrates virtuous experiences on the international scene. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The course provides a broad and up-to-date knowledge of Urban Plans and their relationship with other planning tools and, more generally, with the governance processes in the field of Environmental Planning. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES Sustainable Planning aims to achieve a greater interest in a discipline, such as urban planning, which is, in fact, a connective element between social and economic choices of land regeneration and revitalization. Specifically, the course intends to address the major issues at the urban and territorial level, according to all sustainability principles. TEACHING METHODS During the first part of the course, the professors explain the subject in a theoretical way. In the second part, the general overview done by the professors is followed by thematic workshops with individuals or small groups of students. SYLLABUS/CONTENT The methodological approach will lead the student: - To know the fundamental themes of civil and environmental engineering and their applications in the field of planning and urban renewal, through theoretical lessons and workshops; - To deepen the themes discussed during the course through working groups and the analysis of case studies, in order to develop a greater awareness of the different problems and solutions. Educational program It is divided into different thematic priorities: - Sustainability: milestones, Agenda 21 and best practices - Sustainable waste management - Slow and responsible tourism - Safety and security against risks - Strategic planning: tools and monitoring - Sustainability in port areas and waterfronts - Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan - Infomobility and ICT - Sustainable Energy Action Plan and renewable energy. This exam consists of two main parts: in the first phase, the candidate is asked about the course content. in the second phase, the candidate explains his/her research topic developed during the workshops. ASSESSMENT METHODS Students will have to pass an oral exam during which the knowledge of the topics of the course, the exposure and the theme developed during the workshop/working groups is evaluated.
