Taking a "different" look, a different perspective, allows us to analyze the phenomena of today in the light of other narratives and other visions of the world and to relativize problems. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The course aims to provide a brief outline of the history of anthropological thought and the basic theoretical and empirical tools of the discipline. The different theories and applications of cultural anthropology will be addressed in traditional societies as well as in ours. In particular, the final part of the course will focus on the issue of identity and onset of racism. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES Create a greater sensitivity towards cultural diversity. Provide critical tools to analyze the complexity that marks our era. Provide different reading keys to the reading of Western society. TEACHING METHODS Lessons in classroom Audio will be posted in mp3 on aulaweb SYLLABUS/CONTENT Program for students who use teaching for 6 credits The course includes a history of the main currents of anthropological thought, followed by an in-depth study of the various research fields in which anthropologists are involved today. The aim is to build, through a "long tour" that touches the many cultural diversities of the planet, new looks and perspectives, free from ethnocentrism, which can help provide new keys to analysis on contemporary society.
