OVERVIEW
Prova di Conoscenza della Lingua Inglese aims at supporting students in the study of the English by focussing on expanding their knowledge of syntax and vocabulary and their ability to read and comprehend written texts at the level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
AIMS AND CONTENT
LEARNING OUTCOMES
The assessment of the level B1 of the English Language, corresponding to the level of the English Language Proficiency test, is carried out through tests during the first months of attendance of the first school year, according to the information communicated by the CLAT (Centro Linguistico di Ateneo). In case of a positive result, the corresponding credits will be recorded from the winter exam session of each year. If the result is negative, the students can take an online course, during the first, second or third year, before repeating the test. This course aims to strengthen the basic knowledge of the students, in order to allow them to acquire the level B1 in the four abilities (reading, writing, comprehension and speaking), in accordance with the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

PREREQUISITES
Knowledge of the English Language at level A2.

All the topics are covered in the online course mentioned above and are those typically included in any B1 test for the English Language according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

EXAM DESCRIPTION
The exam is computer-based.
ASSESSMENT METHODS
Students will be required to complete a computer-based test which includes a range of exercises focusing on syntax, vocabulary and reading and comprehension, based on the syllabus.
