The course in brief Presentation The course does not provide curricula, but pathways, i.e. recommended curricula: Translation (literature, translation and adaptation), Didactics (language teaching, intercultural education), Media (economics of the culture industry, intersemiotic rewriting), Learning by doing All pathways include the possibility of undertaking work placements, attending a Literary Theory and Cultural Studies workshop and spending a period abroad on Erasmus. The Translation and Media pathways also include the opportunity to try your hand at a translation workshop. Professional outlets The Master's degree in Modern Languages and Literatures for Teaching, Publishing and Digital Media allows graduates to carry out activities with a high level of responsibility in all professional fields in which a solid humanistic culture and a secure mastery of foreign languages are required, such as publishing houses, study centres, Italian cultural institutes abroad, cultural institutions and foundations, editorial offices, including digital ones, schools (after attending special courses). The course includes common teachings in the areas of foreign languages and literatures to enable the refinement of already acquired skills. These activities are complemented by others specific to each course. The Translation pathway provides specific skills in translation theory and techniques, textual analysis, computational linguistics and computer-aided translation. The Didactics pathway explores issues related to the design, management and evaluation of language and cultural education and intercultural education. The Media pathway addresses the theory and criticism of new media, intersemiotic rewriting, the relationship between visuality and narrative, and the economics of the cultural industry.
