Both tests may be repeated without limit. Those who pass MODULE 1 but not MODULE 2 may keep the positive mark obtained in MODULE 1 until the end of the current academic year (only if the candidate passes MODULE 1 in the February session may take MODULE 2 in the July session of the same calendar year). After this deadline, both modules must be repeated.

Evaluation of the study curriculum and academic merit

Graduates in degree classes other than L-18, L-15 and L-33, as well as graduates of classes 17 and 28 old system (DM 509/99) must obtain an overall assessment of the study curriculum and academic merit equal to at least 70 points, which takes into account:

  1. evaluation of previous academic career (for details see Table 1 below);
  2. academic merit assessment (for details see Table 2 below);
  3. average marks achieved in the admission test (FORM 1 and FORM 2)

TABLE 1
Assessment of previous career in terms of CFUs acquired in the scientific and disciplinary fields referred to in point c) of the admission requirements

Number of total CFUs acquired Score
30-40 10
41-50 20
>50 30

TABLE 2
Assessment of academic merit

Graduation grade Score
≤ 88 0
89-98 10
99-104 20
105 30
106 31
107 32
108 33
109 34
110 35
110 cum laude 40

Students are invited to carefully assess their profile against each of the assessment parameters indicated and to calculate which minimum score they need to obtain in their specific case in the admission test to reach the threshold of 70 points useful for admission.

For example:

  • Case a) CFU acquired in previous career = 30 (10 points); degree mark = 107 (32 points). The candidate can reach the threshold of 70 points for admission if he/she obtains at least 70-42 = 28 thirtieths as the average marks of module 1 and 2 in the admission test.
  • Case b) CFUs acquired in the previous career = 30 (10 points); graduation mark = 107 (32 points)
  • Case b) CFUs acquired in the previous career = 50 (20 points); degree mark = 110 (35 points). The candidate can reach the threshold of 70 points for admission if he/she obtains at least 70-55 = 15, but the test is passed with a mark of at least 18 thirtieths (both module 1 and module 2).
  • Case b) CFUs acquired in the previous career = 50 (20 points); grade of 110 (35 points) in the admission test.
  • Case c) CFU acquired in previous career = 80 (30 points); degree mark = 100 (20 points). The candidate may reach the threshold of 70 points for admission if he/she obtains at least 70-50 = 20 thirtieths as the average marks of module 1 and 2 in the admission test.
  • Case d) CFUs acquired in the previous career = 80 (30 points); graduation mark = 100 (20 points)
  • Case d) CFUs acquired in the previous career = 50 (20 points); degree mark = 90 (10 points).

Checking the level of English language proficiency

All students enrolled in the Master of Science in Management degree programme must have an English language proficiency of at least B1 at the entrance. This requirement must be possessed prior to taking the admission test (if required, see above: Admission requirements). For this purpose:

  • three-year graduates in Economics from the University of Genoa (any class of degree) are exempt from this requirement;
  • .
  • all other candidates must prove possession of this requirement through a B1 certificate (dated no earlier than three years from the date of the admission test) among those recognised by UNIGE: https://clat.unige.it/CertificazioniRiconosciute  or by presenting documentation relating to the passing, during the previous university career, of one or more English language examinations for a total of at least 9 cfu with a mark or average mark of at least 21/30 (in the case of a qualification issued abroad, the mark and weight in cfu of the examination will be verified by applying the conversion table used for international mobility);
.

in the absence of these conditions, the verification of the requirement may be carried out by means of an English B1 test provided in collaboration with Unige's Language Skills Development Department.
