Committees and delegates

Course Council Coordinator

Duties and functions:  

  • performs all duties assigned by the University Statute and the University Teaching Regulations;  
  • coordinates the committees and those responsible for the activities of the CdS;
  • convenes the CCS and submits the SUA-CdS, the SMA, the RRCs for approval;
  • communicates to the CCS the results of all activities carried out by the committees and the various activity managers; 

Course of Study QA Committee

Duties and functions:  

  • creates and updates the annual standardized form (SUA-CdS) within the specified deadlines;  
  • analyzes and drafts the Annual Monitoring Form (SMA);  
  • prepares the cyclical review report and monitors the progress of proposed improvement actions;  
  • analyzes reports and requests from students, faculty and TA staff in accordance with procedures established by the University;  
  • disseminates the culture of quality training and self-assessment within the School;  
  • analyzes the teaching evaluation questionnaires, the Almalaurea questionnaires and other sources of information (e.g. questionnaires from institutions or host companies);  
  • analyzes the report of the school's Joint Committee;  
  • monitors the students' careers;  
  • organizes, in collaboration with the Commission in charge of internships/internships and career guidance, the collection of questionnaires and opinions from the institutions where internships and training have been completed. 

Teaching Commission

Duties and functions:  

  • regularly reviews the educational pathway based on data and indications resulting from monitoring activities and organizes its implementation, also taking into account the need for facilities and services;  
  • reviews the congruence between the CFUs and the teaching load as well as the progression through the semesters;  
  • periodically reviews the entry requirements and the modalities of the intermediate and final examinations;  
  • harmonizes the programs of educational activities;  
  • checks the completeness of the information in the teaching materials;  
  • checks the adequacy of teaching facilities and services for students 

Steering Committee (Advisory Council)

The Steering Committee is the point of contact between the MSc and Civil Society.   

Duties and functions:  

  • Conveys the training needs arising from society, the world of work and culture.  
  • Provides an opinion on the coherence of the MSc and its specific training activities with the demand for training.  
  • Makes proposals to improve and strengthen training activities.  
  • Proposes thematic seminars, either on technical topics, on basic financial concepts, on intellectual property management or on legislation/regulations affecting the technical activities described within the MSc.  
  • Proposes visits to companies, businesses or laboratories;
  • Proposes joint promotional activities for the MSc.

Responsible for internships/placements and career guidance (Responsible at department and MSc level)

Duties and functions:  

  • promotes, collects and manages proposals for internship activities;  
  • organizes, in consultation with the QA Commission, the collection of questionnaires and opinions from the organizations where internships/internships have taken place;  
  • organizes activities to promote orientation in the world of work (meetings with companies, etc.);  
  • promotes, collects and manages proposals for internship/placement activities organizes the seminar activities of industry experts (in addition to the activities of individual lecturers) 

N.B There are no specific curricular internships and non-curricular internships (or internships) with CFU recognition for thesis activities carried out in domestic or foreign companies and institutions. 

Program Requirements Assessment Committee

Duties and functions: 

  • establishes and updates admissions requirements and procedures for reviewing curricular and individual preparation requirements; 
  • reviews applications for admission to the master's degree program to ensure that both curricular and individual preparation requirements are met; 
  • advises students on how to fulfill the admission requirements; 
  • conducts interviews with applicants for enrollment; 
  • checks whether the student has achieved the minimum number of CFUs to be able to start the dissertation; 
  • assists the student in formulating a proposal for a co-rapporteur of his/her choice; 
  • assigns the co-rapporteur;
  • sets the date for the start of the thesis

Website manager

Duties and functions:

  • facilitates the migration to the federated website of the university; 
  • updates, where possible, and verifies the information on the course website on the university's federated website (https://corsi.unige.it/corsi/11767/); 
  • verifies that transparency requirements are met; 
  • updates and verifies the information on the course web pages on the DCCI website until it is decommissioned. 

Responsible for coordinating class schedule and exams

Duties and functions:

  • manages the timetables in such a way that overlaps are avoided as far as possible; 
  • optimizes the distribution of examination dates; 
  • organizes the graduation ceremonies 

Tutoring committee

Duties and functions:

  • organizes the first tests for preparation; 
  • organizes reception activities for foreign students 
  • coordinates the reception and tutoring activities

International Relation Committee

Duties and functions:

  • promotes and coordinates student mobility through the Erasmus+ program or other international programs; 
  • promotes the internationalization of the CdS by coordinating outgoing and incoming student and faculty mobility through specific international programs activated by DCCI faculty

Graduation Commission

Duties and functions:

  • Assesses students in the graduation session
  • Evaluates students in the pre-degree seminar
  • Assesses students at the end of the Focus Groups

Counseling Service

 

Duties and functions:

  • consists of teachers/administratives with whom students can build a relationship that includes enough appreciation, respect, trust and empathy to confide in personal situations that could jeopardize their learning progress; 
  • helps the student to solve problems that are not purely didactic or technical in nature, but which may still affect their academic performance;
