The course in brief
Presentation
The architect trained by the Degree Course is a nationally and European recognized professional.
He combines scientific knowledge, technical skills and cultural preparation to develop projects aimed at adapting the spaces in which we live - from the building to the territory - to the changing world.
He or she must be able to operate in complex situations, confront other experts, grasp the contributions of others, and bring to synthesis the demands of users and clients, without losing sight of the purposes of general interest and the sustainability of interventions.
Check out the Course presentation brochure: Architecture - Brochure (Architecture - Brochure).
Learning by doing
This is a fundamental principle of the architect's educational project; it is based on workshops and the complementarity between them and the teachings, many of which include exercises and practical tests.
Workshops, summer schools, visits to construction sites, study tours, meetings with professionals and practitioners, and internships in cooperation with the Order of Architects all contribute to creating the figure of the new designer.
Professional outlets
The architect is a pliant figure, who finds employment in different fields and in different roles. Freelancer, contractor or company employee, civil servant of public agencies, he or she is involved in construction, in the studio, in the workshop and on the construction site; in furniture and interior arrangements; in restoration; in land planning and government; in landscape and environment.
The degree program offers many opportunities to get in touch with the world of work through scholarships, internships, meetings; workshops and teachings deal with current issues with the participation of individuals and institutions that are directly involved.

Learning objectives
The Course develops the student's critical and analytical skills, and deepens and teaches how to apply in the project the knowledge and tools acquired in the three-year course of study.
Upon completion of the degree course, the student:
- has the basic knowledge of the historical-critical and technical-scientific disciplines of design
- is capable of developing solutions and strategies to organize spaces according to individual and collective needs, in different contexts and at different scales
- is capable of intervening in the built environment and architectural heritage, whether of ancient or recent formation, while respecting the values it expresses
- is able to face the challenges of contemporaneity in terms of objectives (safety, sustainability, sharing) and tools
Educational activities
The student devotes about half of his or her time to laboratories, which train to deal with complex problems, in which scales and disciplines are integrated, favoring one dimension of the project: architecture, urban planning and landscape, restoration, new technologies.
Compulsory teachings deal with architectural history, representation, structures and facilities, regulations, management and evaluation.
A number of elective teachings are offered so that students can develop their attitudes toward a specific aspect of design and mature their own cultural and professional profile.
The course of study retains strong links with the world of work and encourages contacts between students and professionals, institutions and companies involved in architecture, environment and territory.
To find out more about the Course, to learn about the teachings and other activities, and to see some of the projects of the laboratories and application courses from the last academic year, check out the booklet (english version).
