The course aims at outlining the history of both European and non-European countries (19th and 20th centuries) in a perspective that highlights and includes multiple approaches to historical analysis. The course covers the period from the 1870s to early 2000s; it analyzes the main historical events and the most relevant historiographic questions in contemporary history.
Students will gain insight into the social, economic, cultural and political themes and issues of contemporary age (the 20th century in particular). Students will be able to understand Italian history as a part of an international and transnational broader history.
