The course is aimed at absolute beginners, students who have already covered the topics in question, as well as native Russian speakers interested in strengthening their theoretical knowledge of their mother tongue. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Starting from a theoretical reflection on linguistic phenomena, the course aims to create and deepen the knowledge of Russian grammar, lexicon and syntax and to create the four language skills (Russian level A1): listening, speaking, reading and writing. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The aim of the course is the acquisition of language skills corresponding to level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). At the end of the course, the student will be able to: - Actively and passively master the Cyrillic alphabet. - Understand and use simple everyday expressions that enable them to speak briefly about themselves and express practical needs and requirements. - Familiarise with, understand and know how to use essential scientific terminology in the areas covered, both in Italian and Russian. - Use online dictionaries effectively - Understand written and oral texts in Russian and write and speak in Russian according to the criteria described in the CEFR for level A1 - Have knowledge and skills in phonetics, phonology, pronunciation and morphology of the Russian language. PREREQUISITES There are no prerequisites. TEACHING METHODS The Lettorato course is taught by native speakers and will take place during the entire academic year. The Lettorato will take place for a total of five hours per week. Two hours will be held by Prof. Ol'ga Koltyga (Mondays 10:00-12:00, Room 11, Albergo dei Poveri), three hours by Prof. Julija Maklakova (Mondays 12:00-15:00, Room G - Group A -, or Tuesdays 9:00-12:00, Room F - Group B -, Polo Didattico). Students are free to choose which of the two groups to join - Group A or Group B - according to their needs. The Modulo Teorico course will begin in the second semester for three hours a week and will be taught in Italian by Prof. Caterina Re. Attendance is not mandatory, but strongly recommended. Lessons will be supported by material provided on Aulaweb (course code 55873) and/or on Teams. SYLLABUS/CONTENT The course aims to guide learners in the acquisition of elementary grammatical knowledge and the development of basic communicative skills. It introduces basic morphosyntax as well as the acquisition of an A1 level active and passive vocabulary. The Modulo Teorico offers a theoretical perspective, as well as an in-depth study of the basic morphological and syntactic elements also covered in the Lettorato Course. The programme consists of: - Introduction to the Russian language: the Russian language and the European languages - The Cyrillic alphabet. - Main concepts of phonetics and phonology. Russian consonantal and vowel system. - Orthohepy and accentuation. - Word formation: suffixes, roots and prefixes. - Noun: declensions and use of cases. - Pronoun. - Adjective. - Verb: formation of present, past and future. RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY Material will be provided during the course, on Aulaweb and/or Teams. ASSESSMENT METHODS The exam will consist of a number of tests that may be taken in different sessions: The Modulo Teorico test will be taken orally. The examination may be taken, subject to online registration, in the sessions of June/July 2025, September 2025, or January/February 2026. The Lettorato examinations will be in written form and may be taken in May/June 2025, September 2025, or January 2026. In order to pass the examination, it is necessary to be sufficient in all parts.
