AIMS AND CONTENT AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The objective will be to reinforce and/or provide the most suitable tools to enable students to acquire French language competence at level B1 of the Common Frame of Reference for Languages (CEFR), so as to enable students to apply this knowledge in the continuation of their studies and in the working environment. Student will learn to understand the key points of familiar topics concerning school, leisure, etc., to know how to deal with situations that may occur while travelling in the country whose language he/she speaks. Will be able to produce a simple text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest. He/she will be able to express experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly explain the reasons for his/her opinions and plans. RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY The online course will provide students with extensive explanatory and application materials, enabling them to review the rules and do practical exercises. ASSESSMENT METHODS Computer-based: the test consists in a computer-implemented test using the University of Genoa's Aulaweb platform. The test is based on different types of questions (open answer, multiple answer, true/false, correspondence, cloze), which are used to test students' knowledge in the areas of syntax, vocabulary and reading and comprehension of texts. Four dates per year, in the following periods: - one date at the beginning of January - one date at the beginning of May - one date in June - one date in the first half of September. The exact days are published on the portal for booking examination appointments. FURTHER INFORMATION Certificates of language proficiency issued by recognised international certifying bodies (DELF, ESABAC) at B1 level or higher may only be used in place of the French Language Proficiency Test if: - they have not been used for other purposes (e.g. obtaining ‘other’ credits), since certifications are only spendable once in a student's career; - at the time of registration, no more than two years have passed since the certificate was obtained.
