Scope Students non completely fulfilling the minimum entry requirements (based on their previous bachelor’s degree) could be asked for passing additional exams (Bridge Career, BC) before being successfully enrolled in Energy Engineering. Such exams are a necessary requirement for enrolling, and for this reason they have to be passed in due time (i.e. within March of the first academic year). The exams belong to the following classes, pertaining to other MSc or BSc courses: Applied Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer (Fisica Tecnica, code 108756, 6 ECTS) Applied Mathematics (Elementi di Matematica per l’ingegneria, code 84425, 6 ECTS) Fluid Machines (Macchine, code 80377, 6 ECTS) Electric systems (Sistemi elettrici per l’energia code 66309, 6 ECTS) Applied chemistry (Processi della chimica Industriale inorganica, code 90658, 6 ECTS) Exams are oral and/or written, in English. When Academic year 2024-2025 – Exam sessions for bridge career will be scheduled in the same period of the other exams, that is, between the first semester of lessons (September 16, 2024 – December 13, 2024) and the second semester, starting on February 17, 2025. Additional dates may be also available, for example during the stop of the teaching activities at the end of October 2024. Tutoring activities for Applied Thermodynamics and Fluid Machines were also offered to support students in their preparation of the bridge career exams. Details are given in this page. Teams platform was used. The Degree Programme Board is working to offer tutoring activities also in academic year 2024-2025. ELECTRIC SYSTEMS The bridge career course of Electric Systems will start on September 22nd 2023 at 2pm (Italian time). Each lesson will last 3 hours. The code to access the Team is 6l8ogt6. The bridge career course of Electric Systems is composed of 10 online lessons. 5 lessons involve the theoretical elements of Electric systems. The related slides will be uploaded in the Team. 5 lessons involve exercises, which will be preparatory to the final exam. Exercises will be presented only during the online lessons, thus, to be prepared for the final exams, it is important to join the online lessons during the scheduled timings. The final exam will be composed of 2 exercises to be solved in two hours, for which students will receive all examples and the related necessary theory during the online lessons. FUNDAMENTALS of APPLIED THERMODYNAMICS For the tutoring activities on the exam of Fundamentals of Applied Thermodynamics (En2 Bridge Career a.y. 2023-2024, exam code 108756), you can access the Team with the same name using the following code: zcrywkj In this Team you can find a PDF document with the proposed exercises and their solutions. In case you need any explanation, starting from November 9th you can call the tutor on this Team in the following time frames: Monday 09:00-10:00 Wednesday 12:00-13:00 Thursday 09:00-10:00 FLUID MACHINES Tutoring for the bridge career exam of Fluid Machines, code 80377, will start on November, 7. Tutor will be available from 17.00 to 19.00 Italian time, with a calendar communicated to all the students with this BC exam (from November 2023 to February 2024). A Team called “En2 BC of Fluid Machines – tutoring and supporting material” will be used. The code to access the Team is ql2g5ra. In the same Team, supporting material to prepare the exam is available. Please be aware that the content of the course for your exam can be found on the Aulaweb page of academic year 2022-2023, while the documents included in the Team is for your support. You are also allowed to access the Aulaweb page accessing with your Unige credentials. As you will see, the course is divided in two sections, one related to positive displacement machines, the second to turbomachines. To optimize the time of the tutoring activities, you are asked to send the Tutors your questions on positive displacement machines before each meeting through the Team chat. Finally, keep in mind that for accessing Teams, you have to register to Office 365, following these instructions.
