Assessment of Adequacy of Personal Readiness

What is

The Assessment of Adequacy of Personal Readiness is the tool provided by the Educational Regulations to assess your preparation for the purpose of matriculation to the Master's Degree.

Who should conduct the Verification

How to access

To take the Verification of Adequacy of Graduate Personal Preparation, you must pre-register  so that you will be on the lists of students who must take the test.

Then, if the test is successful, you must confirm your matriculation.

Please note: Pre-registration and verification of personal preparation adequacy are free of charge. Payment of the application fee and regional fee is due upon confirmation of matriculation.

How it works

If the admission criteria are met, you will have to take a requirements assessment before a committee to ascertain your general knowledge.

Specifically, the scope of the examination will relate to the knowledge of the fundamentals of Engineering and the professional application aspects of the following subject areas:

  • mathematical/physical sciences
  • computer architectures, data structures and algorithms
  • analog and digital electronics
  • signal processing and transmission
  • telecommunications networks and systems

It is possible to repeat the test for admission to the MSc program a maximum of three times.

The student certifies his or her English language proficiency at the B2 level or higher by means of appropriate certificates in his or her possession or, in their absence, by passing the B2 test organized by the University of Genoa Language Center (CLAT UniGe). The English language proficiency requirement is also fulfilled if the student holds a bachelor's degree in English, to be certified through an official document or letter issued by the corresponding university and indicating that the studies were carried out in English. If the preceding conditions are not met, English proficiency must be assessed as part of the aforementioned personal preparation test by the corresponding Examination Board.

NB: The adequacy of personal preparation is automatically verified for those who have obtained a Bachelor’s degree, Italian or foreign – or a qualification judged equivalent according to what has been indicated about the assessment of curricular requirements, with a final mark of at least 9/10,  For those from Italian universities who have not graduated but have a grade point average of 27/30,  For those who have already obtained the title, of the maximum achievable mark of their degree or who have obtained a final mark corresponding at least to the “A” classification of the ECTS system.
