Committees and delegates

Course Council Coordinator

The Dean is responsible for carrying out the duties assigned to them by the University Statutes and the University Teaching Regulations:

  • coordinates the committees and those responsible for the activities of the degree programme
  • convenes the Degree Programme Council
  • approves the SUA-Degree Programme, the SMA and the RCRs
  • reports to the CCS on the results of all activities carried out by the committees and the various activity coordinators

Course of Study QA Committee

The degree programme (CdS) has a Quality Assurance (QA) system in place to monitor its management processes. It is responsible for:

  • compiling and updating the Single Annual Report (SUA-CdS) and the Annual Monitoring Report (SMA)
  • draft the Cyclical Review Report (RCR) and monitor the progress of the proposed improvement activities
  • analyse teaching evaluation questionnaires, Almalaurea questionnaires and reports from the Joint School Committee
  • monitor reports and requests from students, lecturers and technical and administrative staff
  • identify training needs and learning objectives
  • develop the training programme
  • ensure that transparency requirements are met

Teaching Commission

It deals with:

  • reviewing teaching facilities and student services
  • reviewing CFUs in relation to teaching load and progression across semesters
  • revise the admission requirements and the modalities for intermediate and final examinations
  • check the information in the teaching schedules
  • monitor the course and organise it taking into account the needs of facilities and services

Steering Committee

It is in charge of:

  • expressing the needs coming from society and the world of work and culture
  • providing an opinion between the coherence of the study pathway and specific training activities with the demand for training
.

Guidance and mentoring committee

Responsibilities include:

  • organising meetings with students to present the course
  • organising welcome services for international students in collaboration with UniGe’s International Mobility Service
  • monitor students’ career progress
  • promote activities to publicise the International Curriculum (Serp+ Master’s)

Responsible for LM internships and theses and orientation to the world of work

Responsibilities include:

  • promoting, collecting and managing proposals for work placements and dissertations
  • organise the collection of questionnaires and feedback from organisations where work placements and dissertations have taken place
  • monitor the employment status of graduates
  • promote career guidance activities

Admissions Committee

For the ordinary curriculum, it deals with:

  • examining applications for admission, ascertain the fulfilment of the curricular requirements and decide on admission
  • provide information on how to fulfil the admission requirements

For the international curriculum, it deals with:

  • examining applications and awarding any scholarships
.

Website manager

This is responsible for:

  • updating and verifying information on the course website
  • checking that transparency requirements are met
.

Responsible for coordinating class schedule and exams

Responsibilities include:

  • managing timetables to avoid clashes
  • optimise the scheduling of exam dates

Responsible for international activities

Responsibilities include:

  • co-ordinating student mobility under the Erasmus+ programme or other international programmes
  • co-ordinate the teaching activities of the international curriculum
  • select incoming students for the international curriculum
  • organise the SOSMSE Summer School (compulsory for the international curriculum)
  • serve on the final examination board which meets in Paris every year
