Admission criteria and procedure

1. Read the admission requirements

You can join this course if you have obtained (or will obtain by the end of February) a university degree or equivalent (four-year degree, master's degree, three-year university diploma, three-year special purpose school) and if you meet the specific requirements specified below.

Specific requirements

In order to enroll in this course you must also

  • have at least 60 CFUs in the MAT/* 
  • areas in your career.
  • pass a test of your personal preparation 
  • .

Admission is automatically accepted if you have graduated in the L-35 Mathematics class in Italy. 

2. Register and pre-register

To register, you need to go through the online procedure, which includes registration and pre-registration (see the TUTORIAL).

UniGe Portal Registration

If you have never been enrolled at the University of Genoa, access the UniGe Portal and obtain your UniGePASS credentials.

Pre-registration

Make apply for pre-registration using the UniGePASS credentials received with your registration.

You can apply for pre-enrolment even if you have yet to graduate or, if you are a graduate, even before applying for verification of the curricular requirements or before receiving the outcome of the same.

The University deadline for pre-registration (see next point for application deadline) is

  • from April 12 to November 30, 2023
  • by March 11, 2024 with late fees

By October 11, 2023 submit the application for admission, via the online procedure accessible from the pre-registration page. The application must include the following documentation:

  •  the degree you hold, or are scheduled to obtain (by February 28, 2024);
  • the list of the examinations you have passed in your previous university studies, including the relevant number of credits, the scientific-disciplinary field and the mark you have obtained;
  • the indication of the curriculum of the Master's Degree (Dissemination and Teaching of Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, General Mathematics) that you intend to follow or indication of the date (October 2023 or February 2024) on which you intend to undergo the verification of your personal preparation.

You can apply even if you have yet to graduate.In case you choose the February date for the verification, you can later supplement your documentation with any exams you have taken in the meantime.

Pre-registration and verification of the adequacy of personal preparation are free of charge. Payment of the application fee and regional fee is required only upon confirmation of registration.

3. Support verification of personal preparedness

If you have followed a degree in class L35 - Mathematical Sciences in Italy and have acquired 
▪    at least 40 CFU in MAT/02 or MAT/03
▪    at least 30 CFU in MAT/05
▪    at least 6 CFU in MAT/06
▪    at least 6 CFU in MAT/07
▪    at least 6 CFU in MAT/08
personal preparation is assessed as adequate. To this end at the pre-enrolment stage you must attach

  • a list of the examinations passed (or to be passed by the deadline for enrolment in the degree) in your previous university studies, including the relevant number of credits;

If you have not taken a degree in the L35 class - Mathematical Sciences in Italy ORyou have not acquired

The examination covers the topics listed in the Syllabus and is based on your previous curriculum, the programmes of the examinations you have taken in the MAT/XX sectors and a possible interview, the dates of which will be communicated to you by the Master's Degree Admission Commission.
