Traineeship

What is

Internship, or internship, is a period of orientation and training, carried out in a public or private work setting to facilitate your entry into the world of work.

Curricular internship

The curricular internship

The curricular internship consists of a period of training - of a maximum duration of 12 months, for each course of study cycle - carried out in a company, entity or institution, which allows you to complete and supplement your university course:

  • has an educational purpose, in that it allows you to deepen, verify and extend the learning received during your course of study
  • has an orientation purpose, in that it allows you to enter the world of work, to know internally the business reality and organizational/work dynamics and to assume greater awareness in professional choices
  • does not take the form of an employment relationship
  • must be included in the curriculum

Remember that:

  • the internship corresponds to 10 credits (approx. 250 hours of work) and lasts at least 2 months
  • .
  • you will be able to do it after you have acquired all the CFUs of the training activities (excluding the final examination) except at most 10 CFUs
  • you will carry out the work placement under the direction of a lecturer or an external person indicated by the Study Course Council and a company tutor
  • .
  • the work placement does not have a grade but an assessment (positive or negative). A positive evaluation results in the addition of one point (out of 110) to the final grade
  • .
  • you must produce a well-written report of about 8 pages, including graphs and tables, and make an oral presentation of the work done (e.g. the statistical/mathematical/informatics methodology used, and the new knowledge acquired)
  • .
  • you must send the report to the contact person of the written traineeship commission at least 5 days before the oral presentation
  • .
  • the oral presentation must be between 15 and 20 minutes
  • .

The assessment takes into account the company mentor's report (written in case he/she cannot attend the presentation).

End of internship

At the end of the internship period you will have to submit the following documentation to the Student Desk:

  • statement from the company stating the internship period and an indication of successful completion
  • hour sheet completed and signed by you and the company mentor
