Study plan

What is the study plan

The study plan is the set of all the examinations you need to take in order to graduate.

Your plan includes educational activities, including:

  • teaching
  • laboratories
  • other activities
  • curricular internships

The sum of mandatory and optional activities constitutes your study plan.

Consult the Study Manifesto, which you can find on the course homepage in the Information box under Documents or search for it in the list Study Manifestos

If you are duly registered and have paid your fees, you can submit your study plan.

Log in to the online service with your credentials and complete the plan.

Once you have made your teaching selection, you will have to confirm your proposal.
The proposal status must not be in draft. Plans left in draft will not be evaluated.

If the proposal status is Complete Standard Plan: approval by the course council is not required. The plan will be automatically approved and will be reflected in your career within a short period of time.

If the status of the proposal is Standard incomplete plan or Individual plan: the plan will only be poured into your career after evaluation by the Study Plan Committee and approval by the Course Council. This procedure takes longer.

Choice exams: activities such as work placements, stays abroad, workshops, seminars or knowledge tests, which generally do not envisage a grade in thirtieths but only a grade of passed, suitable, etc., are not considered as choice exams. It should also be noted that students in the three-year course may NOT include, even among the free-choice examinations, courses envisaged for Master's degrees.

In the case of examinations provided by courses with a programmed number of students, it is necessary to request prior authorisation by contacting the relevant Desk or the teacher in charge of the course. The authorisation from the desk or lecturer must be sent by e-mail to the following address sportello.lettere@unige.it

.

Students often decide to take examinations of their choice during their Erasmus stay (subject to the authorisation of the lecturers on the "Learning Agreement"); if these subjects do not have a corresponding name and code in our University, their inclusion in the study plan is not possible; in this case, it is possible to confirm the plan with a lower number of credits (this is indicated during compilation but is not blocking) and it is necessary to specify, in the NOTE when compiling the plan, that the free-choice examination(s) have not been included because they will be attended and taken in Erasmus.

Support in compiling the study plan

If you have any difficulties in filling in, you can ask for support from the tutores and seek prior advice from the members of the Degree Programme Committee

.

Remember that:

  • the deadline must be strictly adhered to in order not to risk exclusion from the winter session calls
  • .
  • if you already have all the subjects (180 CFU) in your career, you do not have to fill in the plan, unless you intend to make changes. In order to change the study plan, you will have to pay the fees for the new academic year
  • .
  • If you plan to graduate by the March session, and therefore do not register for the new academic year, you cannot submit a new study plan.
  • You may not submit a new study plan.

Automatic extensions

The study plan is automatically extended in the following cases:

  • students enrolled with late enrolment → from the date of payment of enrolment and for 15 days
  • students enrolled with late enrolment in master's degrees → from the date of enrolment and for 15 days
  • students who pass TE.L.E.MA.CO. in the third or fourth edition → from the day on which the TE.L.E.MA.CO. results are imported. (typically, the day after the test) and for 15 days

Part-time curriculum

If you know that you cannot devote yourself full-time to your studies, you can choose to enrol part-time, with a decrease in the amount of tuition fees, equal to the category of part-time that you choose between:

1st category - up to 15 CFUs: pay a contribution equal to 25% of the amount due
2nd category - up to 30 CFU: you pay a contribution of 50% of the amount due

Each year, when compiling your study plan, you can change the category, or decide to return to full time.

Part-time enrolment is not permitted if:

  • you have obtained approval of the study plans for all the proficiency examinations in your course of study and for the final examination
  • you submit a study plan including only the final examination and/or additional extracurricular activities
  • you have unconventionally divided the CFUs envisaged for the degree into a number of years equal to the normal duration of the course

Study plan with recognition of previous career

In the case of registration with a resolution to recognise examinations following:

  • passage
  • option from the old to the new system
  • transfer from another university
  • second degree

You will only be able to complete your individual study plan once the Student secretariat has sent you the recognition resolution. If you go beyond the deadline for completing your study plan, you must request an extension at the Student Desk (sportello.lettere@unige.it).

Validated courses, as well as any examinations included in the resolution as additional training obligations (i.e. examinations to be taken as a supplement to courses that have been recognised), do not have to be included in the plan as they will be inserted automatically by the Student secretariat (studenti.uma@unige.it).

In order to draw up your study plan, you must first of all check what year of the course you have been admitted to (it is possible to be admitted directly to years subsequent to the first, depending on the total number of CFUs recognised), and then identify those of the courses envisaged over the three-year period (or two years for master's degrees) that have not been recognised. You are now ready to complete your proposal for the current academic year.

Change the curriculum

As a rule, it is possible to change the curriculum during the three compilation periods.

You will have to access the online compilation, select the examinations entered in the previous academic years that you wish to remove, then add the replacement ones along with all the others scheduled for the new academic year.

You will be able to enter the online compilation window several times and change the plan. Within the same compilation window it is possible to enter the programme several times and modify the plan, but only until final confirmation: once the plan is confirmed, it will no longer be possible to make changes at that time and you will have to wait until the next compilation period.

N.B.:You can only request the inclusion of Out-of-plan exams from the second year onwards. Out-of-plan examinations do not count towards your grade point average. It is not possible to change the type after taking the examination.

.

Cases of blocking or suspending the curriculum

  • in the absence of regular enrolment for the current academic year, completion of the study plan will be blocked
  • .
  • in the event of failure to complete the previous academic year's annual didactic assessment questionnaire, which is compulsory for students enrolled in the current academic year (Course of Study Questionnaire)
  • .
  • in the case of an initial assessment that was not carried out (TE.L.E.MA.CO.), the inclusion of the first-year study plan will be blocked (if enrolled in the first year)
  • .
  • in the case of unsuccessful OFAs (attributed as a result of NOT passing the TE.L.E.MA.CO. test), the inclusion of the study plan for the second year will be blocked (if enrolled in years subsequent to year 1). You will be enrolled as a "Repeat" first-year student.
  • .
  • You wish to enter as a free-choice examination a course provided by a Course with programmed access. In this case, remember to ask the relevant desk or the teacher responsible for the course, also by e-mail, for authorisation, which you will have to send to the desk: sportello.lettere@unige.it In the absence of authorisation, the study plan cannot be approved.
