A Credito Formativo Universitario (CFU) is the Italian equivalent of the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). On average, one CFU corresponds to 25 hours of work, including classroom lectures, labs, projects and independent preparation.

An undergraduate course aims to ensure you master general scientific methods and content and acquire specific professional knowledge.

To earn a bachelor's degree, you must acquire 180 CFUs, equal to 3 years of study.

You can enter the bachelor's degree if you have earned a secondary school diploma.

For admission to degree programs, you are required to have your basic knowledge tested.

In case of a negative result of the verification you can still enroll in the course of study but you will be assigned additional educational obligations (OFAs). You will then have to fill the gaps in your preparation within the first year of the course.

If you do not show up for the initial knowledge check, you will not be able to enter the 1st year study plan. In the case of failed OFAs, you will not be able to enter the 2nd year study plan.

N.B. The conduct of the verification is compulsory for all, any exceptions are described in the teaching regulations of the courses of study.

This is the pathway that includes all the educational activities (lectures, labs, etc.) you have to do to earn your degree. Some activities are mandatory, others must be chosen from several options, and still others are free choice. The study plan must be filled out every year. Filling out the study plan, by the deadline and correctly, is essential for you to be able to register and take exams.

Study plans are filled out between September and October exclusively online from Online Services for students.

The office that manages study plan entry in student careers is the Single Point of Contact.

In case of difficulty in filling in you can avail yourself of the support of the student tutors, who hold reception at Room O in Via Balbi 4.

If you know you cannot devote full-time to your studies, you can choose to enroll part-time, with a decrease in the amount of tuition fees, equal to the category of partiality you choose from:

• 1ˆ category - up to 15 CFUs: pay a contribution equal to 25% of the amount due
• 2ˆ category - up to 30 CFU: pays a contribution equal to 50% of the amount due

To complete a part-time study plan, you must access the compilation of an individual plan. Each year, with the compilation of the study plan, you can change the category, or decide to return to full-time.

In the fact sheet of each teaching published on the UniGe website you will find information about the objectives and contents, bibliography, lecturer in charge of the course, examination methods, and reception hours.

You can check the class schedule through the Easyacademy portal.

Within the scheduled periods, it is mandatory to fill out, as an attendee or non-attendee, the evaluation questionnaires of teaching and support services by accessing the Online Services page of UniGe.

There are two surveys available: Teaching Assessment and Annual Course of Study Assessment, both of which are anonymous. For individual teaching assessment you will have to wait until the curriculum is entered in your career.

You can check the calendar of exam appointments on the Course of Study website under "Students" > Exam Calendar. To find out the classroom in which they will be held you need to consult the portal Easyacademy a few days before the call.

Registration for exams is compulsory and should generally be done at least 5 days before the date of the appeal you want to register for (or other deadline set by the lecturer).
Registration should be done online through the Online Student Services portal. From here you can view the exams that have been included in the syllabus and for which an appeal of your choice can be booked. In addition, you can view exams for which you have already booked and possibly cancel your booking.

Tutors are a point of reference for students, especially freshmen: they are available for assistance in completing study plans and other paperwork, such as filling out the graduation application.

Guidance tutors receive weekly in Balbi 4 (classroom O, ground floor) and online, on the Teams platform (team code: ub0u9tn); teaching tutors support in the preparation of exams or individual teaching units and can also be a support in the editorial aspects of final exams with their efforts.

The University of Genoa provides each student with UniGePASS credentials (username and related password) to access the University's information technology services.

The University of Genoa offers all students and staff the opportunity to take advantage of Microsoft software through the Microsoft Campus Agreement license. Use your UniGePASS credentials and gain access to services.

Students, faculty and administrative technical staff can access Microsoft Education licenses, the new name for Microsoft Imagine, and download many of Microsoft's software.

To access:

2. You will be directed to the Microsoft Azure page. In the upper left-hand corner, click on Sign in using the credentials you used to register for the Office365
service.
3. Once you are logged in, in the upper right-hand corner select portal; this will take you to a Microsoft Azure page: in the field at the top for search, enter education
4. You are now on the page from which you can download software.

The University of Genoa has the GenuaWiFi and eduroam wireless networks, which you can access with your UniGePASS credentials, to surf the Internet and use online services.
There are more than 600 active access points located throughout the teaching sites.

The eduroam network is a service provided by the Education Roaming Federation, of which the University of Genoa is a member. Thanks to eduroam you can also use your UniGePASS credentials in many other universities and research institutions in Italy and abroad.

MyUniGe is the official UniGe application that allows you to have all the information related to class organization and classroom availability at your fingertips.

With MyUniGe you can have on your device:

• the configuration of the degree course, year and educational pathway to which it belongs and related teachings you want to monitor
• the detailed description of the lectures both by week and by entire educational cycle
• the description of the lectures with references to the lecturers
• the availability of classrooms in real time
• the receipt of notices and communications via push
notifications

The Home food are cozy university spaces dedicated to students who want a convivial space where they can eat together and heat up the meal they brought from home or bought outside.

They are equipped with tables, microwave ovens and wifi network.
In some cases they are also equipped with vending machines for drinks and snacks.

Your home food is located in the descent between Balbi Street 2 and Balbi Street 4.
