Teaching Vademecum What is a CFU A Credito Formativo Universitario (CFU) is the Italian equivalent of the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). On average, one CFU corresponds to 25 hours of work, including classroom lectures, labs, projects and independent preparation. What is the degree An undergraduate course aims to ensure you master general scientific methods and content and acquire specific professional knowledge. To earn a bachelor's degree, you must acquire 180 CFUs, equal to 3 years of study. You can enter the bachelor's degree if you have earned a secondary school diploma.
Information Resources UniGePASS The University of Genoa provides each student with UniGePASS credentials (username and related password) to access the University's information technology services. Microsoft Campus Agreement The University of Genoa offers all students and staff the opportunity to take advantage of Microsoft software through the Microsoft Campus Agreement license. Use your UniGePASS credentials and gain access to services. Microsoft Education Students, faculty and administrative technical staff can access Microsoft Education licenses, the new name for Microsoft Imagine, and download many of Microsoft's software. To access: Visit the Cedia page where you will find just a few brief directions. Click at the bottom on To access the service click here. You will be directed to the Microsoft Azure page. In the upper left-hand corner, click on Sign in using the credentials you used to register for the Office365 service. Once you are logged in, in the upper right-hand corner select portal; this will take you to a Microsoft Azure page: in the field at the top for search, enter education You are now on the page from which you can download software. GenuaWiFi and eduroam The University of Genoa has the GenuaWiFi and eduroam wireless networks, which you can access with your UniGePASS credentials, to surf the Internet and use online services. There are more than 600 active access points located throughout the teaching sites. The eduroam network is a service provided by the Education Roaming Federation, of which the University of Genoa is a member. Thanks to eduroam you can also use your UniGePASS credentials in many other universities and research institutions in Italy and abroad. MyUniGe App MyUniGe is the official UniGe application that allows you to have all the information related to class organization and classroom availability at your fingertips. With MyUniGe you can have on your device: the configuration of the degree course, year and educational pathway to which it belongs and related teachings you want to monitor the detailed description of the lectures both by week and by entire educational cycle the description of the lectures with references to the lecturers the availability of classrooms in real time the receipt of notices and communications via push notifications It is available in Italian, English, and Spanish. Part-time enrolment If you know you cannot devote yourself full-time to your studies, you can choose to enrol part-time, with a reduction in the amount of tuition fees, equal to the category of part-time you choose from: 1st category - up to 15 CFUs: pay a contribution equal to 25% of the amount due 2nd category - up to 30 credits: you pay a contribution equal to 50% of the amount due. To compile a part-time study plan, you must access the compilation of an individual plan. Each year, when compiling your study plan, you can change the category, or decide to go back to full-time. Study plan This is the pathway comprising all the educational activities (lectures, workshops, etc.) that you have to undertake in order to obtain your degree. Some activities are compulsory, others must be chosen from several options, and others are free choice. The study plan must be completed each year. Filling in the study plan, within the set deadlines and correctly, is indispensable for you to be able to enrol and take your exams. Study plans are filled out in October exclusively online from the Online Services for students. The office that manages study plan entry in student careers is the Sportello Unico. If you have any difficulties in filling in the form, you can get support from the student tutors, who hold receptions in Aula O in Via Balbi 4. Teaching schedules In the fact sheet for each course published on the UniGe website, you will find information on the objectives and content, bibliography, course lecturer and examination procedures. Lesson timetable You can consult the class schedule via the Easyacademy portal. Evaluation of teaching Attending and non-attending students must complete the evaluation questionnaire by accessing the Online Services page of UniGe. There are two surveys available: Teaching assessment and Yearly study course assessment, both anonymous. For the assessment of individual courses, you will need to wait until the study plan is included in your career. Examinations You can consult the calendar of exam dates via the Easyacademy portal. Registration for exams is compulsory and must generally be done at least 5 days before the date of the exam you wish to register for (or other deadline set by the lecturer). Registration must be done online from the dedicated page. From here you can view the exams that have been included in the syllabus and for which you can book an appeal of your choice. In addition, you can view the exams for which you have already booked and cancel your booking if necessary.. Tutoring service Tutors are a point of reference for students, especially freshmen: they are available for assistance in compiling study plans and other paperwork, such as filling out degree applications. The tutors are always available by e-mail to answer questions from their colleagues. The orientation tutors are available every week in Balbi 4, room O, ground floor; the teaching tutors provide support in the preparation of examinations or individual teaching units, in practising for classical language examinations and can also provide support in the editorial aspects of final examinations.
