AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Acquire knowledge of cytology, tissue organization and general embryology
Learn the basic principles of the main histological staining methods and reactions
immunohistochemical

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The aim of the course is to provide the student with a complete view on the organization of human tissues and the cells that compose them, and notions on how this organization is instrumental in ensuring the full homeostatic functionality of tissues.

Expected learning results:
Knowledge of investigation methods in cytology and histology.
Knowledge of the terminology of the discipline.
Knowledge of the subcellular, cellular and tissue structures of the human body

TEACHING METHODS

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

During the lessons an ongoing test could be carried out to evaluate the level of acquisition of the first contents held in the classroom and concerning the cytology.

The oral exam is aimed at evaluating the learning of knowledge related to the topics illustrated and discussed in the classroom and the ability to integrate and contextualize this knowledge.

In case of certification of specific learning disability, disability or other special educational needs, the University legislation and regulations on disability and SLD are applied (https://unige.it/disabilita-dsa/studenti-disabilit%C3% A0-normative).
See also the "Other information" section of this syllabus.

It is possible that emergency situations prevent the students to taking part in the examination in attendance for the final evaluation. In this case, the Teams platform will be used.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

ASSESSMENT METHODS

1. The choice of the examination method allows to verify the acquisition of the knowledge inserted in the training objectives

2. The oral test that is the examination methods used and that includes most of the program carried out allows to better evaluate how the student orients himself in the entire tissue scenario addressed in class, allowing also to evaluate his reasoning skills. aimed at associating structural notions with functional concepts

3. If the candidate has not achieved the minimum objectives, the exam will not be deemed passed

FURTHER INFORMATION

In case of certification of specific learning disability, disability or other special educational needs, please contact both the Department contact person,  and the lecturer at the beginning of the lectures to agree on teaching and exam methods which, in compliance of the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning methods and provide suitable compensatory/dispensatory tools recognized by the University SLD Student Service.
