Traineeship

What is

Internship, or internship, is a period of orientation and training, carried out in a public or private work setting to facilitate your entry into the world of work.

The curricular internship

The curricular internship consists of a period of training carried out in a company, entity or institution, which allows you to complete and supplement your university course:

  • has an educational purpose, in that it allows you to deepen, verify and expand on the learning received during your studies
  • has an orientation purpose, in that it allows you to enter the world of work, to know internally the business reality and the organizational/work dynamics and to assume greater awareness in your professional choices
  • does not take the form of an employment relationship
  • must be included in the study plan

If you have almost completed your course of study, you can do an internship at a company instead of taking an in-house final exam. In fact, we recommend that you combine the internship with the final examination.
The recommended duration of the internship is 300 hours and corresponds to 12 CFUs.

The internship is physically carried out at the company/entity that proposes it and requires the activation of a University-company agreement (one-off, so only in case such an agreement does not yet exist) for insurance reasons. All internship proposals are evaluated by the internship committee, which judges their appropriateness.

The conduct of the internship is supervised by both a company contact person and a faculty member of the degree program.

Students and company referees must, of course, meet minimum requirements of professionalism and seriousness:

  • the thesis-intern cannot recycle a job they are already doing at a company as a thesis-internship
  • the proposing company cannot use the thesis-internship as a formula for obtaining low-profile free work

The curricular internship consists of a period of training - of a maximum duration of 12 months, for each course of study cycle - carried out in a company, entity or institution, which allows you to complete and supplement your university course:

  • has an educational purpose, in that it allows you to deepen, verify and extend the learning received during your course of study
  • has an orientation purpose, in that it allows you to enter the world of work, to know internally the business reality and organizational/work dynamics and to assume greater awareness in professional choices
  • does not take the form of an employment relationship
  • must be included in the curriculum

How to activate a curricular internship

If you are interested in one or more internships send an email to tirocini.informatica@dibris.unige.it with the following information:

  • first and last name
  • title of the internship you are interested in and portal on which you have identified it (if you are interested in more than one internship you must clearly indicate your order of preference)

The internship commission will give you an acknowledgement that the email has been received.

You will receive an email confirming your assignment and you will be put in touch with the company, public body or association for an informational interview.

After the interview you should inform the committee whether or not you intend to confirm your interest in the internship.

On receipt of the confirmation of interest from you and the company, the committee will assign you an internal university lecturer. The internal supervisor is responsible for the final exam in the same way as any other final exam.

At this point you can apply to an existing proposal on the Internships and Theses platform, as explained in the student handbook, and then fill out together with the proposing company (also on the same platform) the training project form, a document that defines its objectives and how it will be carried out.

Activation

To activate the internship there must be an active agreement between UniGe and the host institution (public or private company):

  1. Read the list of UniGe agreements
  2. Log in with your UniGePass credentials to the online platform and fill out:
    1. The Internship Proposal
    2. The Training and Orientation Project.

Invites the Company to read the dedicated page and register at the Student Curricular Activities Portal: Internships and Theses. Then initiate the necessary paperwork for the internship.

Come attivare un tirocinio curricolare

Prima di poter effettuare il tirocinio devi conseguire l'attestato del corso on line sulla sicurezza e salute sul lavoro. Il corso:

  • si svolge completamente in modalità e-learning
  • è suddiviso in 4 moduli
  • ha una durata complessiva di 4 ore

Per completare il corso, devi aver visualizzato tutte le video-lezioni, superato i relativi test di autovalutazione e la verifica finale. Al termine del corso, riceverai un certificato digitale e potrai scaricare l’attestato in formato pdf.

Per accedere al corso online devi collegarti a corsosicurezza.aulaweb.unige.it e autenticarti con le tue credenziali UniGePASS. La chiave di iscrizione è "studente" o "laureato".

Attivazione

Per attivare il tirocinio:

  1. Prendi contatto con il referente amministrativo dell’ufficio tirocini
  2. Accordati con il referente all'interno dell’azienda (tutor aziendale) e con il tutor universitario (professore del tuo corso di studi)
  3. Invita l'Azienda a registrarsi al portale Attività Curricolari degli Studenti: Tirocini e Tesi (se non fosse già iscritta). Successivamente avvia le pratiche necessarie al tirocinio.

Sarà compito del tutor aziendale introdurti al contesto lavorativo e favorire il tuo ambientamento, oltre che valutare il tuo percorso e il raggiungimento degli obiettivi formativi al termine dell’esperienza.

Assicurazione

UniGe, in qualità di soggetto promotore, provvede ad assicurarti contro gli infortuni sul lavoro presso l'INAIL e, per la responsabilità civile, presso compagnie assicurative operanti nel settore.

Riconoscimento CFU

Attenzione: i tirocini curriculari, attivati durante il Corso di laurea, sono ora gestiti dalla piattaforma Attività Curricolari degli Studenti: Tirocinio e tesi

Al momento, però, la piattaforma non gestisce il riconoscimento dei CFU in carriera.
