Plan of study

What is the study plan

The study plan is the set of all the exams you need to take in order to graduate.

Your plan includes educational activities, including:

  • teaching
  • laboratories
  • other activities
  • curricular internships

The sum of mandatory and elective activities makes up your Plan of Study.

As

If you are duly enrolled and have paid the fees, you can submit the study plan.

Log in to online service with your credentials and complete the plan.

N.B. Remember to enter the compulsory and optional subjects provided by the system in which you enrolled. If at the time of submitting your degree application, all of the prescribed subjects are not included in your plan, you will not be able to proceed with the degree.

In case of difficulties in filling in you can ask for support from the tutors and seek prior advice from the members of the Degree Plans Committee.

Two types of curriculum

This is the plan that conforms to the Manifesto of Studies, i.e., adheres to what the course of study proposes for each year of enrollment. It does not have to be handed in/transmitted: After confirming it online, it will be automatically entered into your career in the days following the deadline for completion.

You cannot fill it out if:

.
  • you wish to enroll part-time
  • .
  • you have received a CCS resolution for recognition of a previous career
  • you want to change your curriculum choice
  • you have already completed an individual plan in previous years
  • you wish to change one or more teachings entered in previous years
  • you wish to enter as a free-choice exam a teaching provided by a programmed access course

You do not need to send your individual study plan to the Student Desk. After validation, the plan will be forwarded ex officio to the Study Plans Committee and entered into your career after approval by the Course of Study Council.

You must complete it if:

.
  • you wish to enroll part-time
  • .
  • you have received a CCS resolution for recognition of a previous career
  • you want to change your curriculum choice
  • you have already completed an individual plan in previous years
  • you wish to change one or more of the courses you have entered in previous years.Note:Keep in mind that such changes are exceptional in nature, may be granted only once within the academic year, andmust in any case strictly comply with the constraints imposed by the educational regulations. These constraints are functional to guarantee the legal value of the degree. The Course Plans Committee is in charge of verifying the viability of the requested changes.
  • .
  • you wish to include as a free-choice exam a teaching provided by a Programmed Access Course of Study. In this case, remember to ask the relevant Desk, also by e-mail, for the nullaosta that you will have to attach to the study plan. In fact, in the absence of the nullaosta, the study plan cannot be approved
  • .
  • You wish to submit a study plan that deviates from the requirements of the Manifesto. NB: Also in this case, please keep in mind that such changes are exceptional in nature, can be granted only once within the academic year, and must still strictly adhere to the constraints imposed by the educational regulations. These constraints are functional to guarantee the legal value of the degree. The Course Plans Committee is in charge of verifying the viability of the requested changes. Remember, also, to indicate always in the notes, at the end of the compilation, the reasons behind your choice.

N.B. Remember to complete the procedure by saving your individual study plan request. Requests left in draft, will not be considered.

.

Part-time curriculum

If you know you cannot devote full-time to your studies, you can choose to enroll part-time, with a decrease in the amount of tuition fees, equal to the category of partiality you choose from:

1st category - up to 15 CFUs: pay a contribution equal to 25% of the amount due
2nd category - up to 30 CFUs: pay a contribution equal to 50% of the amount due

To compile a part-time study plan you must access the compilation of an individual plan (Campusone). Each year, with the completion of the study plan, you can change the category, or decide to go back to full-time.

Part-time enrollment is not allowed if:

  • you have obtained plan approval for all the proficiency examinations in your course of study and final examination
  • you submit a study plan by including only the final exam and/or additional extracurricular educational activities
  • you unconventionally spread the CFUs required for the degree over a number of years equal to the normal duration of the course

Study plan with recognition of previous career

In case of enrollment with resolution of exam recognition following:

.
  • passage
  • option from old to new system
  • transfer from another university
  • second degree

You will not have to fill out a standard study plan, but a individual plan (CampusOne).

You will be able to fill out the individual study plan only when the Student Registrar's Office has sent you the recognition resolution. If you go beyond the deadline for completing the study plan, you will have to request a extension at the Student Desk (sportello.lettere@unige.it).

Validated teachings, as well as any exams included in the resolution as additional educational obligations (i.e., of exams to be taken as a supplement to teachings that have been recognized), do not have to be entered in the plan since the insertion will be done automatically by the Student Secretariat (studenti.uma@unige.it).

For the definition of your study plan, you will first have to check in deliberation to which year of the course you have been admitted (it is in fact possible to be admitted directly to years subsequent to the first, depending on the total number of CFUs recognized), then identify among the courses planned over the three-year period those that have not been recognized for you. At this point you are ready to fill out your proposal for the current academic year.

.

. You have to use the study plan modification form and draw from the list of courses activated in the current academic year taking into account that

  • 6CFU=semester exam
  • 9/12CFU=annual exam

Remember to email it to the Student Desk by the deadline.

N.B. If you have interrupted your studies, you will be allowed to resume your old path only if you are missing the discussion of your dissertation or 1/2 proficiency exams.

Change the curriculum

It is usually possible to change the study plan in the fall, at the same time as filling out the following year's plan.

You will need to access the compilation of an individual plan, select the exams entered in previous years that you wish to remove, then add the replacement ones along with all others scheduled for the new academic year.

However, you can also request a change in the study plan during the year, in the last week of February.
Remember that you need to transmit to the Student Desk the request form exclusively via e-mail by March 1, 2024.

NB: You can request the inclusion of extracurricular Out-of-Plan exams only from the second year.
